HATCHING EGGS

FOR AVAILABILITY OF HATCHING EGGS, PLEASE CHECK OUR ‘AVAILABILITY’ PAGE.

OUR GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF EGGS FOR HATCHING.

We are small family breeders of rare breed waterfowl, specialising in Large (Standard) Silver Appleyard and Saxony Ducks, plus Sebastopol geese.
It has taken a great deal of time and effort over a number of years to acquire the very best quality brood and exhibition grade ducks from which to breed.
Our waterfowl are our pride and joy, and we are dedicated to preserving these rare breeds, by staying as true to the adopted breed standards as possible, whilst making them more accessible for anyone to own.
Duck eggs are sold in batches of 6, and Goose in batches of 4.
Drakes and Ducks are line bred or unrelated to each other, as are the Ganders and Geese.
We regularly take orders for posting, but equally we welcome anyone more local whom would like to collect in person.
We find that duck eggs travel quite well but, goose eggs are very sensitive and would be better collected via courier or in person. However our eggs are sent, we always endeavour to pack these as super safe and protected as possible.
Please contact us in the first instance, accepted orders are on a first come first served basis, and are subject to availability. We can take pre season orders at any time, although officially our order book opens in early March.

POSTAGE/DELIVERY
Eggs are securely and well packaged for protection during transit, and clearly marked as ‘fragile’. We are currently using purpose made ‘Poly boxes’ and strongly encourage our clients to recycle or upcycle all cardboard, paper and bubble wrap.
We care very much for our environment and pledge our support to the reduction of waste and landfill. We therefore use as much eco friendly & recyclable packaging as we can without compromising the protection of such delicate contents.

Hatching Egg orders are dispatched Monday-Thursday only via Royal Mail 1st class service (1-2 day delivery aim)
We also offer a Royal Mail Special delivery option (guaranteed next day by 1pm)….although due to the issues surrounding the COVID-19 health crisis, this service is no longer guaranteed, and first class deliveries can take longer occasionally!

Due to rules and regulations, regrettably we do not to post to countries outside the UK.

INSTRUCTIONS
Upon receipt of your precious cargo, we advise that you rest the eggs for 24hrs at room temperature before commencement of incubation.
Also if there are any ‘unclean’ eggs, we advise that you clean them with an appropriate hatchery disinfectant in accordance with the manufacturers instructions before commencement of incubation.

THE BORING BUT NECESSARY STUFF..
IMPORTANT…
Fertile eggs are only intended for incubation purposes and NOT for human consumption.
1) Whilst we believe all our eggs prior to dispatch to be of fertile and sound quality, we cannot control the handling/storage of them once in transit. Therefore their viability upon receipt, and during any subsequent incubation cannot be guaranteed.
We also cannot be held responsible for any failures/losses during subsequent incubation as we are not in control of this process.
2) All eggs will have been handled carefully, stored and turned correctly prior to dispatch. Eggs are also candled to screen for air cell health and flaws.
3) All eggs will be in perfect condition upon being packed, unfortunately once dispatched we can take no responsibility for damage or breakages. Great care has been taken to ensure their protection in every way possible.
4) We will dispatch the freshest eggs possible (for optimum viability) as quickly as nature will allow.
It is our aim that eggs will be no more than 5 days old upon dispatch.
5.) Please recycle, upcycle or re use as much of our packaging as possible (our bubble wrap is recyclable too!). Spare a thought for our environment, and help us to reduce waste and landfill…..THANK YOU!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
